"My way towards independency"
Morium is the youngest among her five brothers & sister. She had a dream that she would be become a teacher in a school after completed higher education. She had strong & high willingness on higher education. She completed Master degree with her attentiveness and seriousness. While her dream was almost reality, suddenly her father died and her life became dark. Other brothers and sisters got married and they started a separate life, without taking care of her and her mother. They went through a very difficult period of their lives. They didn’t know where to go, what to do, how she could support her mother and how they could survive. She understood she could not follow her dream, and she was not even able to sleep thinking about the uncertainty of the future. At that time, DALIT was starting a new project in Khulna district named “Jukta Hoe Mukta (United We Stand)”. One of Morium’s relatives met DALIT project’s worker by chance and she referred her about the opportunity to receive a training and join the Ready Made Garment (RMG) sector. Morium decided to learn more about this and she finally agreed to attend the training at Vocational Training Centre (VTC) run by MJF. She successfully completed the skill program and she found her way to fulfill her previous dream to be economically independent in the garments’ factory.
With the salary she gets, including overtime, she can save money in the bank after paying her monthly expenditures and supporting her mother. Compared to her childhood, when her family was very poor, she is happy and she is planning for her future now. She would like to have some assets in her name one day and to give her mother an easier life. She is very much grateful to DALIT for the opportunity she had.
