"I know my child is safe and I can do my job without tension"
Rahima was living with her husband and working in a garment’s factory. When she became pregnant, her husband abandoned her and she had to struggle a lot to survive with her small child. When her son was two years old, her husband came back and he brought both of them to their village. His plan was to keep with him only his son and he repudiated again his wife from the house. But day by day the child was getting sick due to his mother’s lack of love and affection, and he had to give him back to his wife. However, he didn’t change his mind about his decision to divorce and he left both of them forever.
A pathetic and tragic journey started for Rahima and her child. She couldn’t get any job at that time because she didn’t have anyone to take care of her child. In the meanwhile, she heard Phulki had a Day Care Centre (DCC) nearby her house. So, without wasting other time, she contacted the caregivers to get some more information about how it is functioning and later on she requested the Project Supervisor to admit her son. Considering her situation, Phulki agreed to take him.
Now Rahima is working in a garment’s factory and she is earning enough to survive independently. She is very happy about her son’s progress on early learning and she shared her only wish now is to grow up her son with proper guidance and education. She said that “Phulki is giving her the necessary strength to survive in this cruel world with dignity. If I couldn’t be able to admit my son in the DCC, then I would have been never able to make myself financially solvent.”
